The Spanish Footballers' Association says the feeling across the game is unanimous and is calling for this weekend's scheduled matches not to go ahead. The decision now rests with LaLiga and the RFEF, with a direct impact on Fantasy planning.

The Spanish Footballers' Association (AFE) has requested that the round be suspended following the death of Jesus de Miguel, a Tenerife player. The union reinforced that request on Thursday, 5 November, saying it reflects the overwhelming feeling conveyed by footballers across all divisions.

AFE says it has contacted male and female players to gauge their stance after the news, and the response has been unanimous: the group believes the matches scheduled for this weekend should not be played.

The union maintains that there are no adequate emotional or human conditions to compete normally. In its statement, the association appeals for mourning, respect and sensitivity in the face of a loss that has caused deep shock across Spanish football.

The request comes after the Copa del Rey and Copa de la Reina matches scheduled between Tuesday and this Thursday were already postponed. From here, the decision lies with LaLiga and the RFEF, who must determine whether the round goes ahead, is suspended in full or whether partial measures are adopted.

According to Isaac Fouto of COPE, the initial intention would be to keep the league round on, with the exception of matches involving the clubs directly affected. In any case, that possibility is not a final resolution and remains subject to official confirmation from the relevant bodies.
