The situation of Iñaki Williams was one of the issues Terzic addressed after the 1-1 at San Mamés. The coach of the Athletic Club was able to talk to the attacker as soon as the match ended and detailed what had happened.

“I just spoke with him. He got kicked in the foot and it hurt a lot, but we hope he is better tomorrow because he was already feeling better than when he left”, he explained on Movistar+.

It was not the only cause of frustration for the coach. The Elche held firm during a first half in which the rojiblancos had more initiative and, after the break, managed to go ahead from the penalty spot. Athletic responded and ended up salvaging a point, although Terzic felt the result was not enough.

“I think we deserved a bit more, especially in the first half we pressed well and kept them away from goal. We only lacked the first goal. After that, in the first action of the second half we committed the penalty and we needed to recover, and we were close to scoring the second. We are sad”, he said.

Álex Berenguer, who came on in the second half in place of Robert Navarro and took part in the move that ended up leading to the draw, shared a similar reading. The player lamented the lack of accuracy despite the effort made by the team.

“I think we played a good match and we deserved to win. The team gave everything, but we have to be more clinical in front of goal. We had two or three clear chances, but we did not put them away. It could not be”.

Berenguer also explained how the goal move came about: “I tried to look for a solution, shoot on target and that whatever had to happen would happen. In the end it went in and we take a point, but it feels like too little. We have to try to add three points at a time, especially at home”.

The attacker wrapped up his analysis by highlighting the tightness of the competition and the difficulties they faced against a more compact Elche: “This league is very even; any team can beat you. I think they went back a little and got behind the ball, and it cost us a bit, especially in the second half. But well, we have to keep going like this. I think we had chances to be able to win it”.
