Espanyol are looking to strengthen their squad with Gabriel Moscardo and Kaique Kenji. Both Brazilian players, aged 20, fit the profile of young talents with room to grow.

The Brazilian market is once again taking centre stage in Espanyol planning. The sporting department continues to track opportunities and, in recent hours, two 20-year-old players have emerged as possible targets to bolster the squad: Gabriel Moscardo and Kaique Kenji.

Ramón Rodríguez 'Monchi' has built much of his reputation by finding talent in both France and Brazil, two markets that have historically delivered a high hit rate. Now, both names are putting the Blanquiazul side back on that same line of work.

Gabriel Moscardo

The most advanced case is Gabriel Moscardo. The midfielder has been with Paris Saint-Germain since 2024, when the French club paid 20 million euros to sign him from Corinthians. Since then, he has gone on three consecutive loan spells: he first returned to the Brazilian side, then moved on to the Stade Reims, and last season he defended the colours of Sporting de Braga, where he played 39 matches, scored one goal and provided one assist.

Competition in PSG's midfield, with players such as Vitinha, Joao Neves, Fabián Ruiz or Warren Zaire-Emery, greatly reduces his chances of getting minutes. According to El Chiringuito, Espanyol continue to closely monitor the Brazilian's situation in an attempt to secure his loan.

Kenji Takamura

The other name to break through is Kaique Kenji Takamura Correa. The forward belongs to Cruzeiro and can play on either wing, as a second striker or even as a centre-forward. He also has a Japanese passport thanks to his mother's ancestry and is the son of the former Brazilian international Kléber de Carvalho Correa.

Unlike Moscardo, Kaique has not yet made the jump to European football. He is under contract with Cruzeiro until December 2028 and is not a regular in the Brazilian club's line-ups. His name has also attracted interest in Italy, where Lazio continues to keep tabs on his progress.

Espanyol continue to analyse the market in search of young additions with room for growth and Moscardo and Kaique Kenji fit that profile. While there are no advanced negotiations at present, both are part of lthe list of players the club is monitoring to strengthen the project for next season.
