Very bad news for Umar Sadiq
Umar Sadiq returns to the medical spotlight at Valencia after picking up an injury in Riazor. The Nigerian striker will be assessed for hamstring discomfort that could affect the club's plans as the transfer window closes.

The situation for Valencia CF in attack gets even worse. The injury to Sadiq, sustained after the Riazor match, arrives when the market is close to shutting and with a squad that already has several physical setbacks.
The exact extent of the problem still needs to be confirmed with further tests, but the muscle tear is significant. In similar injuries, with something more severe, surgery has even been required, an option that for now does not appear to be the expected scenario for the forward.
The blow for Carlos Corberán is a major one. Sadiq had been a starter in Riazor and scored the only goal for Valencia CF so far this season, in a very poor offensive start for the Valencian side. The coach has already used three different strikers in the first three matchdays of La Liga: Danjuma, Hugo Duro and the same Sadiq.
Corberán loses options and the club looks to the market
Sadiq's absence adds to other recent issues in the squad. Guido Rodríguez will be out for the next month of competition and did not feature against the Deportivo. Justin De Haas is also still injured with a sprain in the lateral complex of his right ankle.
The only name that offers a more positive evolution is Pablo Maffeo. The full-back, who missed the Riazor game due to muscle discomfort, completed part of Monday's morning training with the group and could be available for the match against Barcelona.
Sadiq had already suffered hamstring muscle problems during pre-season, an injury that prevented him from traveling to the England stage and for which there was finally no medical report. Now the issue has returned in the same area and with greater severity.
With limited attacking resources and just a little over 24 hours until the transfer window closes, the Valencia CF are forced to review their options. While the future of the squad is resolved, Aimar Blázquez worked this Monday under Corberán's orders to complete the list of forwards.
