Lisci on Raúl Moro, Javi Galán, Aimar Oroz, Becker, injuries, the system, and Villarreal
Osasuna's coach has given an interview to Diario AS where he has talked about various names and current topics related to the rojillo club.
CA Osasuna
What assessment do you make of the months you have been at Osasuna?
The assessment is positive because we have gone through very tough times and managed to come out ahead. It's always difficult for a season to flow smoothly and go well, there's always some tough moment. We went through a slump of injuries, results, a tough schedule and now we are in a good moment. It's not just a moment because we have been doing well for months. We need to work hard to keep that going and not revert to the previous situation.
Did you receive the call from Osasuna while you were immersed in the promotion playoff with Mirandés? How was it?
It was right at the end because Osasuna didn't want to bother me while I was in that key moment of the season. It was quite natural.
When Osasuna made you the offer, did you hesitate at any point?
I didn't hesitate because Osasuna is a great, stable club. Obviously, results always prevail but it's a club where, in principle, you can work well. It seemed to me the best option to take the next step in my career. I was very excited about that option.
What have you found at Osasuna, what do you think makes it different?
It's a very close and stable club. In the end, when I have gone through difficult times, I have always been supported. We have tried to get out of there calmly, reflecting, trying to understand the mistakes and see how to improve, not from chaos or tension because it doesn't help. I think that's what sets this club apart from others.
At any point, more than the club, because of the environment, have you felt questioned?
No. I try to isolate myself a bit from everything. 90-95% of the stadium has always supported the team and that's what interests me. It's impossible, with the large fan base that Osasuna has, to please everyone. It's utopian. If the majority supports us, that's it. Then you can be more or less liked. Everyone has the right to express their opinion and there's no problem. But I have always felt very supported by the fans. Every day I enjoy playing at El Sadar more. Every match is a dream, it's incredible.
It's true that during the first part of the season you had very bad luck with injuries...
