MDThe Real Madrid finished the Clasico with concern over Fede Valverde's physical condition. The Uruguay international, who returned to play as right-back in Jose Mourinho's system, had to leave the pitch in the 62nd minute after suffering discomfort in the back of his right thigh.
The problems began in the first half, after a demanding defensive action in which the Madrid player felt muscle discomfort. Valverde put his hand to the hamstring area several times, prompting Mourinho to order Denzel Dumfries to warm up in case he needed to make a change.
Despite the discomfort, the Uruguayan decided to keep going on the pitch and even received treatment from Real Madrid's medical staff during the first half. Finally, after Raphinha's goal in the second half, Mourinho chose to replace him with Dumfries in the 62nd minute, preventing him from continuing to rack up efforts.
For now, Real Madrid has not issued an official diagnosis regarding the midfielder's physical condition. We'll have to wait to see how he develops and what possible medical tests reveal to determine whether it's just a minor overload or a muscle injury that could rule him out of upcoming fixtures.
