Probably the most uncertain goalkeeping situation of the three. Matías Dituro has played the first four matchdays as the starter, but Elche's start to the season has been complicated defensively: the Ilicitano side has conceded 12 goals in four matches, and the Argentine has made mistakes in recent games against Racing and Real Sociedad.

This has increased the chances of Alejandro Iturbe. The 23-year-old goalkeeper has yet to play a single minute this season, but he has Martín Anselmi's trust, and the possibility of him getting an opportunity is already being seriously considered.

Anselmi, though, publicly defended Dituro after the loss to Real Sociedad, highlighting his experience, authority and captain's status. For that reason, a change still can't be taken for granted, although the trip to San Mamés on Saturday could be the moment chosen to make a move. Athletic-Elche will be played on Saturday, September 12 at 18:30.

Álex Remiro's benching against Elche was especially surprising because the Spanish international had come off a clean sheet against Celta. There was no physical issue: Pellegrino Matarazzo decided to go straight for Unai Marrero.

And the most important thing were the coach's explanations afterward. Matarazzo admitted that he wants to keep Marrero involved and give him minutes frequently, and also believes his characteristics were particularly suited to the type of build-up play they needed against Elche. During the summer, he had already warned that he didn't want to establish such a clear separation between a number one and a number two.

Marrero conceded two goals at the Martínez Valero, although he ended up being important with several interventions in the final minutes to preserve the 2-3. His performance raised some doubts, especially in certain exits, but it also included positive actions.

Real Sociedad host Atlético de Madrid this Sunday, and here the question mark is open again. On authority and track record, Remiro remains the favorite in any conventional scenario, but Matarazzo has shown that he's willing to rotate even in LaLiga.

Comuniate Opinion: Remiro should continue to have more starts during the season, but he has stopped being a completely safe option for fantasy. Marrero will have far more prominence than usual, and we'll have to stay alert matchday after matchday.

Villarreal's situation has changed notably this week. Luiz Júnior had been chosen by Íñigo Pérez in LaLiga, but his performances in the opening matchdays raised doubts. The coach decided to make a move in the Champions League and gave the starting spot to Péter Gulácsi against Borussia Dortmund.

And the veteran Hungarian goalkeeper delivered. Despite the 3-2 defeat, Gulácsi made several important saves, including a one-on-one against Guirassy and a big stop in the second half that prevented Dortmund from extending their lead earlier. His display was one of Villarreal's most positive notes in Germany.

At Elche, Dituro is threatened by Iturbe; at Real Sociedad, Matarazzo has confirmed that Marrero will get real opportunities; and at Villarreal, Gulácsi has just put forward his case with a strong performance against Dortmund.

If we have to rank them by the level of uncertainty right now, Elche and Villarreal seem the hottest, while at Real Sociedad Remiro still has more authority but we already know that doesn't guarantee he'll play every matchday.
