Pablo Martínez left out of the Cup squad as doubt grows

Málaga Club de Fútbol

Málaga CF has announced its squad for the Copa del Rey match against Sporting de Alcázar, a list in which Pablo Martínez is once again missing. The midfielder is still recovering from plantar fasciitis, the same physical issue that already kept him out on matchday 10 of LaLiga.

His absence from the Cup tie does not definitively confirm that he will miss the next league fixture, but it does keep him as a serious doubt for matchday 11, when the Malaga side will take on Real Betis. The key will be how he progresses over the coming days.

Along with Pablo Martínez, the injured Joaquín Muñoz, Diego Murillo, Juan Cruz, Julen Lobete and Aarón Ochoa are also not part of the squad. Meanwhile, the absences of Alfonso Herrero and Rafita are due to a decision to rest.

For Fantasy managers, Pablo Martínez calls for caution. With him not yet fully recovered and still outside competitive rhythm, his inclusion in matchday 11 hangs in the balance. Unless there is positive news before the end of the transfer window or before line-ups are confirmed, it is advisable to have an alternative ready to cover for a possible absence.
