Dani Vivian's return date is now known
The rojiblanco centre-back continues to make progress in his recovery from the groin problem he has been dealing with since last season. Dani Vivian will train again with his teammates once the next international break ends, although his return to a squad will depend on how he responds to the increase in workload.

Edin Terzic will have to face the three September fixtures without Dani Vivian. The defender will not be available on Saturday 12 against Elche at San Mamés, at 6:30 pm, nor in the other two matches the team will play before the international break.
Vivian has yet to register any official minutes this season and he also did not feature in any of the eight pre-season friendlies. His absence goes back to practically the entire pre-season: the Athletic Club started work on 6 July and the centre-back had to stop ten days later.
The latest medical update published by the club, dated 16 July, pointed to a tendon injury in the long adductor of his right leg and left his progress to be determined. Recovery, however, is focusing on the groin problem he has had since the previous campaign, a situation that has significantly extended his time working away from the group.
A return to the group that does not mean he is ready to compete

DFThe schedule suggests that he will rejoin the collective sessions after the next international window. This year, FIFA has combined the September and October periods into a 16-day camp, running from 20 September to 6 October. LaLiga will resume competition over the weekend of the 11 October.
If that timetable is followed, Vivian will have gone close to three months without completing a session with the rest of his teammates. The coaching staff are prioritising a progressive recovery, especially given the demands that a groin problem entails and the risk that the discomfort could return if the workload is increased too quickly.
Returning to train normally will also not mean an immediate place in the starting XI. After such a long spell away from the collective dynamic, the centre-back will need a phase of re-adaptation and a gradual integration into competition before he is fully available again.
Vivian's absence adds to the defensive-axis problems Terzic has faced since the start of the season. Unai Egiluz underwent surgery for a second time on his right knee and Aymeric Laporte joined later after the World Cup. Up to now, Yeray Álvarez and Aitor Paredes have formed the centre-back pairing, while Iker Monreal has been promoted from the B team as an alternative.
Lezama's treatment room also currently includes Peio Canales, who continues to recover from an issue in the left leg's soleus.
