The Villarreal finally gets its season underway at La Cerámica, after three consecutive matchdays away from home, and it does so with a certain need to secure its first win. The yellow submarine side has shown some good signs in this league start, but the draws against Racing and Atlético de Madrid, along with the defeat in the last matchday at Mendizorroza, leave it with a poor record of 2 points from 9 possible. The team creates plenty, but it has not been sharp in front of goal, which has been heavily penalizing it in these opening fixtures. 

Íñigo Pérez ’s men will host a Deportivo that has just been promoted, but that has started the campaign very well. The Galicians have still not lost; they come off a clear win over Valencia at Riazor and have an Aubameyang in top form, and that is without even taking into account the new signings they made before the transfer window closed.

As for the starting XI, it is expected to be similar to that of the early league matchdays, although there are several important doubts. First, Foyth finished the last match injured and has not trained normally during the week, so Pau Navarro could get his chance. It would also not be surprising to see Freeman give Mouriño a rest at some point at right-back, or even for the Uruguayan to play in the center of the defense instead of Foyth or Pau. In midfield, Moleiro is expected to return to the left wing from the start after being a substitute at Mendizorroza, while in attack Gerard, Ayoze and Mikautadze will once again compete for the two spots.

Real Club Deportivo de A Coruña

After a spectacular transfer window close, the Depor faces the toughest opponent it has had so far. The Herculian side already has five points in its tally after three matchdays and is eager to keep adding to them.

For this matchday, we expect Giménez and Marc Casado to be in the starting lineup. They come with momentum and occupy key roles to fill in the Galician XI. While waiting for Adama, Yeremay, Mella and Angeliño to get more minutes, there will be no further changes to the starting XI.

Hidalgo will probably repeat the lineup except for the introduction of Giménez for Ede and Casado for Riki.

A key match to gauge the ambitions of the Coruña side.
