Butarque will be the setting for the Rayo's debut as a 'home' team. Last season it was used to hand the 3-0 to Atleti; we'll see what happens this time. 

Beñat's side will want to make up for the heavy blow of matchday 1, where they dropped points that they may well end up feeling later. 

From a sporting point of view, it looks like the manager will field a nearly identical starting XI (if not the same) as last Saturday. The main doubt remains in the attacking area, where Nteka could start with a theoretical edge over Alemao and Camello. 

The absence of Luiz Felipe and the knocks to Kumbulla suggest that Pathé Ciss will continue to be the partner of Lejeune. Could Pelayo come in? He could, but we wouldn't line him up.

Deportivo Alavés

A resounding home win (3-0) to kick off the 26/27 season on the right foot, in a match that was defined by the sending off of Femenía. Now the team travel to Vallecas, where they haven't scored or earned points in their last three Liga visits to Rayo Vallecano, although the game will be played at Butarque, to see if that changes the visitors' negative run despite it being a different stadium. 

Quique arrives with a doubt over Boyé, but since it's the first match of the season, we'll know the starting XIs an hour in advance. Plenty of options for Mariano and Mikel Rodríguez after they shook up the game from the bench against Bordalás's men.
