Saba Sazonov, new signing for Getafe's defense
Getafe CF has confirmed the signing of Saba Sazonov to strengthen its back line ahead of next season. The Georgian center-back arrives free after finishing his spell in Italy and signs for one campaign, with an option to extend the deal for one more year.

Getafe's blue-and-white sporting directorate keeps moving in a major transfer window for Jose Bordalas' team. After several high-profile departures, including those of Luis Milla and Mauro Arambarri, the club needed to add reinforcements to a squad that will also have to respond in the Conference League.
Sazonov arrives free after his spell in Italy
Sazonov, aged 24, had already been on the radar of the Getafe CF in previous windows. Now he lands at no transfer cost after ending his contract with the Torino, in a deal that increases competition in a defensive line that already includes Djené, Boselli and Zaid Romero.
The center-back's recent performances create some uncertainty on the sporting front. In the last two seasons at club level, he has barely played one match, although the club highlights his youth, physical presence and room for growth.
In his official statement, Getafe said it has reached an agreement with the Georgian international defender to bring him into the first-team squad. The club also noted that Sazonov was trained at Zenit St. Petersburg, made his debut in Russia's top tier and continued his development at the Dinamo Moscow.
His step up to Italian football came in 2023 with Torino FC. He later built up experience in Serie A during his loan at Empoli, and he has also been a full international with the Georgia national team.
