The Sevilla team closed preparation this Tuesday for Wednesday's match against Villarreal with a significant setback. Isaac Romero did not train with the group at Sánchez-Pizjuán and his presence in the squad is uncertain.

After linking two home wins against Real Sociedad and Espanyol, Luis García Plaza’s team travels with the aim of moving closer to safety. The challenge also comes at a stadium where the Nervionenses have not won since 2017, although a victory could practically seal their survival if Levante and Alavés also falter in their respective matches.

Strictly in sporting terms, the main news of the day concerned Isaac Romero. The Lebrijan forward did not train with his teammates and stayed at the Ciudad Deportiva Cisneros Palacios to carry out specific work with the goal of recovering from the discomfort he has had since before the match against Real Sociedad.

His situation had already been marked by management over the past few weeks. The most direct alternative opens the door to Akor Adams, decisive with his injury-time goal against Espanyol and with chances of returning to a starting position he has not enjoyed since the match against Levante.
