A Comunio user has reportedly formally requested that his league be overturned after paying 25 million for Vinicius and, several matchdays later, discovering that the one from this season cannot be the real one.

The fantasy season is already starting to claim its first victims, and there is a case that could set a precedent. According to what Comuniate has been able to learn —or at least that's what we want to believe—, a Comunio manager has asked for his league to be annulled and restarted from scratch after investing 25 million in Vinicius Junior.

The reason for the complaint is clear-cut: he claims that the player who appears on the pitch each matchday is 'not the Vinicius I signed'.

'I paid for the real one'

The complaint comes after, over the past few days, a theory has gone viral on social media, obviously as a joke, that the current Vinicius could actually be a double.

The affected manager believes that there is enough evidence.

'I paid 25 million for a player who took on defenders, scored goals, provided assists and won me matchdays. This gentleman I have now in my squad looks very similar, I won't deny that, but the points don't match,' the manager is said to have explained.

The deal was also made at one of the most heated moments of the transfer market.

According to the reconstruction of events, the user had 26.3 million in budget and decided to bid 25 million for the Brazilian, leaving only 1.3 million to complete the rest of the squad.

'I even sold the kit man. I was clear that Vinicius was my franchise player,' he admits.

He demands a refund and a restart of the league

The document sent to Comunio would ask for three exceptional measures:

  • The full refund of the 25 million.

  • The annulment of all matchdays that have been played.

  • The competition to be restarted with the original squads.

He also asks that, if the existence of a double is confirmed, the real Vinicius be added to the market immediately.

His league mates, however, are firmly opposed.

The current league leader believes the claim ' lacks legal and fantasy grounds' and reminds everyone that he too paid 14 million for a striker who still hasn't scored.

'If we start refunding money for things like this, we would have to restart every league in Spain,' he says.

Comunio studies the case

For the moment, there is no indication that Comunio will change any standings, although sources close to the fantasy market say that the possibility of including an ADN test before making bids higher than 20 million is not currently on the table.

Meanwhile, the alleged affected manager keeps Vinicius in his lineup.

'I have no choice. If the double scores two goals this matchday, I will withdraw the complaint.'

From Comuniate, we will stay alert to any new developments related to one of the most delicate cases of the season.

And we remind all managers that bids made in moments of euphoria are the user's sole responsibility. Even when there is suspicion that they have signed a double.
