Celta loses one of its most in-form players at the decisive moment of the season. Miguel Román will be out for around three months after a fracture in his left foot was confirmed, with surgery planned in the coming days.

MDThe club's medical staff detail that the midfielder felt severe pain in his left ankle and foot during the second weekly training session at Cidade Deportiva Afouteza. After an X-ray to rule out bone involvement, tests confirmed a fracture at the base of the fifth metatarsal.
The player will undergo surgical treatment and is expected to have surgery in the coming days. The estimated timeline sets his recovery at around three months, which, if met, will leave him out for the remainder of the season.
From a sporting perspective, the homegrown player from Gondomar had been improving as the season progressed and had established himself as an important part of Claudio Giráldezs plans. In his debut in the First Division, he had accumulated 1,310 minutes spread over 19 matches, with 14 starts, and scored his first goal at the top level against Levante.
His contribution had also extended to Europe: in the Europa League, he had participated in eight matches, starting in five, totaling 540 minutes. Now, Celta faces his absence in a challenging context.
The injury also comes two days before the Europa League round of 16 first leg match against Olympique Lyonnais.
