RED ALERT FOR RAIN IN VALENCIA

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has issued a red alert for this Monday on the Valencia coast due to possible torrential downpours, putting at risk the staging of the LaLiga match between Valencia CF and Real Oviedo, scheduled for 21:00 at the Camp de Mestalla. The Valencia club has said through its social media channels that it is monitoring the weather situation, which “requires being very alert”. In the message, Valencia and LaLiga say they will take “the necessary measures for the benefit of fans”, without specifying whether the game could be postponed. Concern is at its highest in the city, where the memory of last October's devastating DANA, which left 229 people dead, remains very much in the foreground.
