Real Madrid makes Cucurella signing official

The Catalan defender becomes one of the first signings of the new Madrid project led by José Mourinho from the bench, with Florentino Pérez at the helm of a renewed era at the Santiago Bernabéu.

At 27 years old, Cucurella returns to LaLiga after establishing himself in the Premier League, where he has grown into an intense, competitive full-back with the ability to play both in a back four and in systems with overlapping wingers.

Trained at La Masia and with experience at Eibar, Getafe, Brighton and Chelsea, the Spanish international arrives at Real Madrid to strengthen a key position. His energy, defensive aggressiveness, tactical awareness and ability to join the attack fit the profile Mourinho was looking for in his new team.
