The Athletic Club lose Aymeric Laporte for their trip to Rayo Vallecano, scheduled for this Saturday, October 10 at 2:00 pm in Vallecas. The Spanish international has been left out of the squad due to a minor issue, according to the medical report from the rojiblancos.

It is a last-minute withdrawal that is a setback for Edin Terzić, who will have to reorganize the heart of his defence against the Madrid side.

Vivian, Yeray and Paredes, options for the back line

With Laporte ruled out, the Athletic coach will have to choose between Dani Vivian, Yeray Álvarez and Aitor Paredes to form the starting centre-back pairing.

The absence of the Spanish international also directly affects the fantasy managers who had him for this matchday. Laporte will not register minutes on matchday 8, so a replacement will need to be found before the deadline for team selections.

Not all the news is bad for Athletic. Álvaro Djaló has finally made the squad and will be available for the game against Rayo Vallecano.

His presence expands Terzić's attacking options, although the main surprise in the list remains the unexpected absence of Laporte.
