Key dates of the complete LaLiga calendar 2025-26

The countdown has begun. The 38 matchdays that will shape the 2025-26 season in LaLiga EA Sports are already known. The competition will kick off on August 15th and will run until May 24th, with the 380 matches strategically distributed throughout the season. Barcelona, as the reigning champion, will start the season at Son Moix against Mallorca. Meanwhile, Real Madrid is scheduled to face Osasuna in their first match, although the date could be modified due to their participation in the Club World Cup.

Farewell to the draw, welcome to the algorithm and consensus. The model used this year has left behind the traditional random formulas. Instead, more than 400 conditions — including club requests, institutional criteria, and international commitments — have guided the creation of a calendar agreed upon by the RFEF, LaLiga, and Liga F. A strategic framework that avoids clashes of key matches on the same day and meets the logistical needs of stadiums and cities.
The newly promoted teams Levante, Elche, and Oviedo will debut against Alavés, Betis, and Villarreal respectively. While Real Madrid is set to play against Osasuna, their debut is still uncertain: AFE demands that the white club have at least three weeks of vacation and another three for preparation after their international tournament.

Club requests have been crucial: several teams —Barcelona, Getafe, Rayo, and Betis, among others— will debut as visitors due to construction work, safety reasons, or parallel events at their stadiums. LaLiga, on the other hand, has scheduled the Clásicos and derbies on strategic dates, prioritizing the television spectacle.

The competition will pause on four occasions for FIFA international windows: from September 1st to 9th, October 6th to 14th, November 10th to 18th, and March 23rd to 31st. Additionally, the Christmas truce will be respected, with the last match of the year on December 22nd and resuming on January 3rd. No football on New Year's Eve.
There will only be three midweek matchdays throughout the season: on September 24th (J6), April 22nd (J33), and May 13th (J36).
