Spanish football is in mourning. The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has announced the suspension of all matches scheduled for this Tuesday, November 3, as a sign of respect and solidarity following the tragic death of Jess de Miguel, a player for CD Tenerife.

The sad news of the death of Jess de Miguel, a player for CD Tenerife, at the age of 30, has shocked Spanish football. In light of this situation, the RFEF has decided to suspend the official fixtures scheduled for this Tuesday, November 3, as a sign of mourning and respect for the player, his family, and the Tenerife club.

Two Copa del Rey matches postponed

The decision directly affects the two matches of the first round of the Copa del Rey that were scheduled for this afternoon, both at 19:00:

  • CD Pamplona - SD Eibar (19:00).
  • CD Anaitasuna - Deportivo Alavs (19:00).

These ties had already been rescheduled previously and will now need to find a new date on the calendar. The Celta de Vigo - Espanyol in the Copa de la Reina match, corresponding to the third round, is also suspended.

Likewise, the Federation has cancelled the official presentation of the match that will be played by the Spain and Japan Under-21 national teams, an event scheduled for this Tuesday in Almendralejo.

The RFEF will announce in the coming days the new dates and kick-off times for the postponed matches. In the meantime, Spanish football remains united in its grief over the loss of Jess de Miguel.

From Comuniate, we want to reiterate our condolences to his family, team-mates, friends, and to all CD Tenerife supporters. Rest in peace.
