Very bad news for Miguel Román's knee
Miguel Román's injury could be more serious than initially expected. The Celta midfielder will undergo imaging tests to determine the extent of the problem in his right knee, although the first reports point to a scenario that could keep him out for the rest of the season.

MDRomán has become one of the regular players for Claudio Giráldez at the start of this campaign. The academy product has featured in all seven La Liga matches, six of them as a starter, accumulating 578 minutes and a goal, which he scored against Racing de Santander.
He also had a role in Europe. The midfielder played the full 90 minutes against Omonia in the first match of the Europa League's Europa League Phase.
The main concern now is his right knee. According to Celta sources cited by EFE, Román could miss the rest of the season, although he still needs to undergo the corresponding imaging tests. The initial diagnosis also suggests that the injury could force him to go under the knife.
His possible absence would be a major setback for a player who had settled into Claudio Giráldez's plans. Román already finished last season early after suffering a fracture of the fifth metatarsal in his left foot, an injury for which he also had to be operated on.
On that occasion, an estimated recovery period of three months was set. The player was cleared at the start of pre-season, the 10th of July, and since then he had regained a prominent role in the team.
Román's situation coincides with another physical problem in the squad. Sebastián Cáceres has left the Uruguay camp due to discomfort in his pubis. The international has been released by his national team and will return to Vigo to be treated.
