Matchdays 6 and 7: two key rounds for Comunio managers

Two very close matchdays that will require extra attention to the transfer market, injuries, rotations and, of course, the balance of our squad.

A special 6th matchday: only 9 matches

The 6th matchday will begin on Tuesday, September 15 at 19:00 with the clash between Rayo Vallecano and Espanyol.

The main peculiarity of this round is that it will consist of only 9 matches, since the Real Sociedad-Celta fixture was played earlier and was counted in Comunio as a double matchday.

This means that Real Sociedad and Celta players will not have a scoring match in matchday 6, something we need to keep very much in mind when preparing our lineup.

If you have several players from these two teams in your squad, it will be important to look for alternatives so you do not leave gaps in the starting XI.

Watch out for rotations

Matchday 6 comes midweek, and that usually means more rotations than usual.

Coaches will have little time to recover between games, and some players could rest, especially those who have racked up a lot of minutes.

Press conferences from the coaches, possible rest periods and last-minute knocks.

It will also be important to review the likely lineups before the matchday starts and avoid taking too many risks with players who arrive carrying knocks or whose position is not guaranteed.

Don't sell Real Sociedad or Celta players too quickly

That Real Sociedad and Celta do not play in matchday 6 does not necessarily mean we should sell all of their players.

The 7th matchday will arrive just a few days later, so getting rid of key players for only one round can end up being a bad decision.

If you have squad depth and starters from one of these teams, it may be more interesting to keep them on the bench during matchday 6 and bring them back for the next fixture.

Another different situation would be needing money to strengthen the starting XI or having too many players from these teams.

Matchday 7 comes immediately after

The 7th matchday will begin on Friday, September 18 at 21:00 with the game between Espanyol and Elche.

This means there will be very little time between the two matchdays.

Managers will practically have to prepare matchday 7 while the sixth matchday is still being played, so we recommend having a slightly deeper squad than usual and avoiding ending up with an overly short starting XI.

Possible injuries, suspensions or rotations from matchday 6 could force us to make quick moves in the transfer market.

Keep a close watch on the market

These midweek rounds often create good opportunities.

Players who are substitutes in matchday 6 could regain a starting spot a few days later, while less regular players may get minutes thanks to the rotations.

It could also be a good time to look for cheap players with real chances of starting and to expand your squad depth.

Having 13 or 14 usable players can make a big difference during weeks with such close matchdays.

And remember: positive balance before the first match

As always in Comunio, to be able to score points it is mandatory to have a positive balance before the start of the first match of each matchday.

For matchday 6, the limit will be the Tuesday, September 15 before 19:00, while for matchday 7 you will need to be in positive territory before the Friday, September 18 at 21:00.

So be very careful, therefore, about making big bids thinking we will have more time to sell later.

With two matchdays so close together, planning is key. Controlling rotations, having bench alternatives and checking the likely lineups can be decisive in gaining an edge over our rivals.
