Kiko Femenia: official medical update and estimated time out
The Getafe has already put a name to the injury that forced Kiko Femenia to retire against Celta. Medical tests have confirmed a muscle tear in the left hamstring's biceps femoris, although more information is still needed to determine how long he will be sidelined.

The blue-and-on club has not specified the grade of the injury, its extent, or whether there is tendon involvement. For that reason, there is no official recovery timeline for Kiko Femenia, and any estimate will depend on his progress and the next medical assessments.
The full-back for the Getafe was injured during the match played last Monday against the Celta. The problem appeared in the 5th minute, when he stretched his leg to contest a ball and felt discomfort in the back of his left leg.
Femenia received treatment on the pitch and tried to continue, but just three minutes later it became clear he was not fit to carry on. Andrs Garca came on in his place in the 8th minute.
Kiko Femenia's time out remains up in the air
With the exact extent of the tear still unknown, it is impossible to set a specific return date. As a general reference, a lower-grade muscle injury may require around two or three weeks, while a more serious problem can extend those timelines considerably.
Based on the available information, a period of between three and six weeks seems a cautious estimate, but it is not a timeframe established by the club. Any tendon involvement, an aspect that has not yet been detailed, could prolong the recovery.
The only certainty in the short term is that Kiko Femenia will not be available for Getafe's next match. The medical staff will continue to monitor his progress before deciding when he can begin the process of returning to competition on a gradual basis.
