Asencio could go under the knife: does Real Madrid need to sign a defender?
The injury ordeal of the Canary Islands player seems to have no end. Last season Asencio was out of action for more than two months, mainly due to muscle problems. This pre-season, the story has repeated itself and by now he has already racked up almost a month without playing a single minute. Something striking, considering he has had plenty of time off to reset and recover.

As in most of these cases, and with no official statement from the club yet, Asencio will undergo conservative treatment to avoid having to be operated on; if that is the case, the time on the sidelines would be between 6 and 8 weeks. Trust, at least for now, is there.
