Mario Martín will not be available for Getafe's first European match of the season. The midfielder is carrying a quadriceps injury suffered on his league debut, and his recovery will determine what happens in the coming days.

The setback came after the initial call-up for the first leg of the Conference League qualifying round against Partizan of Belgrade, a match that is being played at the Coliseum. The Getafe side announced the withdrawal via its X account, leaving José Bordalás without an important piece in the middle of the park.

The injury dates back to the game against Alavés, where Mario Martín suffered a quadriceps injury. From now on, the player will be monitored for progress, and his availability for the second league matchday is not guaranteed.

Awaiting recovery ahead of Matchday 2

The knock adds another problem for Bordalás, who had been counting on the Toledo native as a regular in his plans. Last season, he featured in 35 LaLiga 25/26 matches, a figure that reflects the importance he has been gaining in the blue-and-white lineups.

The information suggests the club has chosen not to take risks in case the issue worsens. Ahead of Sunday's match, the situation remains open, and the coaching staff will have to consider alternatives if Mario Martín is not fit. Among the options for the midfield are Djené and the newly signed Francho Serrano.
