Hull City goes into overdrive for Yeremay
Yeremay is back in the spotlight of the transfer market, with Hull City interest on the table. The English club insists it has the player's go-ahead, although in A Coruña they maintain that there is no formal offer and no request to leave from the player.
Real Club Deportivo de A Coruña
The situation now enters a delicate phase. Hull City president, Acun Ilicali, spoke on the BBC about an emotionally advanced operation, but still complex in the economic and sporting areas. According to his version, Yeremay would have made a "quick visit" to the English city and the outcome could come in "three or four days".
At Deportivo, for the moment, the picture has not changed: there is no official proposal from the Brits and the attacking midfielder has not told the Coruña club that he wants to leave. The blanquiazul side is sticking to the same line it has maintained throughout the summer: it does not consider selling, unless the player makes the move and requests his exit.
As LA OPINIÓN was able to learn, the private plane of Hull's president flew over Lavacolla yesterday. Ilicali admits that Yeremay is going through a period of reflection before making a final decision, with the added difficulty of dealing with a player who, in the words of the executive, "had only been at one club".
Pubalgia does not put the English interest on hold
Hull City, newly promoted to the Premier League, knows that Yeremay has been carrying pubalgia for months, but does not see that as an insurmountable problem. The president himself explained that the player would have to pass the medical assessment and that, if it were a chronic condition, he would not join the club.
The operation looks complicated. Deportivo already rejected in the penultimate window a proposal from Sporting Portugal for 30 million euros plus 5 in add-ons, and any move for its franchise player would force the club to rethink the final stretch of the market.
Yeremay must rejoin training today after the day off granted to the entire squad. From now on, his position will be decisive: if he decides to push ahead with the English option, the Coruña club would have to consider an offer that, for now, has not arrived.
A departure from the 10 would be a major blow to sporting planning. Deportivo would receive a sizeable sum, but it would have to go into the market to find a heavyweight replacement, probably without the same football impact as Yeremay.
