The Levante have less room to maneuver. The renewal of Carlos Álvarez had been on the table since before promotion to LaLiga, but it has not yet been finalized, and the player now faces his final year of contract.

From January 1, 2027, if he does not sign an extension, the attacking midfielder will be able to negotiate freely with other clubs to leave for free at the end of the season. That possibility forces the Valencian club to decide during this window whether to push for his stay, listen to offers, or accept the risk of keeping him until June.

The Levante's financial situation also does not help. The club wants to protect one of its important assets, although the financial context makes a renewal deal difficult. The interest from the Seville-based side now comes in a different context. A year ago, Carlos Álvarez's price was moving in much higher figures after his market value surpassed the 15 million euros. With the contract heading into its final stretch, a sale this summer could happen for amounts lower than those being discussed at the time.

At Nervión, they see in the player a profile capable of bringing offensive talent and linking play between the lines. The emotional connection is also part of the picture, because Carlos Álvarez was trained at Sevilla and has never hidden his bond with the club.

That relationship was reflected when he scored for Levante at the Sánchez-Pizjuán and decided not to celebrate the goal. After that match, he explained: "I am a lifelong Sevilla fan. I knew that if I scored, I wasn't going to celebrate it. I grew up here and I owed them that respect".

The player, born in Sanlúcar la Mayor on August 6, 2003, was one of the standout names of Levante's promotion campaign. His goal against Burgos sealed the team's return to LaLiga at a particularly sensitive time for the club, both on the sporting and economic fronts.
