Real Sociedad are preparing for their double-header in Germany without Gonçalo Guedes. The Portuguese forward will be sidelined for a few days after undergoing a personal surgical procedure, unrelated to sporting practice.

The absence comes right at the start of pre-season for the player and affects his chances of getting minutes in the upcoming friendlies. The Real Sociedad have a double test ahead against Cologne, scheduled for this Friday and Saturday in Germany, and the Portuguese will not be available for either of those two matches.
With that scenario, Guedes would have as his main opportunity to get some playing time the friendly on the 15th against Chelsea, a fixture with greater demands ahead of the start of LaLiga.
His participation in the first LaLiga matchday should not be in doubt, a game that will see Real Sociedad take on Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu on August 26.
