In Valdebebas last Thursday, Ceballos requested a face-to-face meeting with Arbeloa to settle the situation. According to what was published by Marca, the midfielder delivered a direct message: total separation and each one on their own. In the locker room, always according to that report, he summed it up with a blunt phrase: “I don’t want to have any more relationship with the coach”.

From the coach’s circle, the scenario is interpreted as personal and not sporting. In fact, the player has not played a single minute since returning from his injury in April, because Arbeloa does not count on him for reasons he has not publicly explained. At the club, the tense atmosphere is seen as obvious and they intend to avoid further conflicts until the end of the season.

The club takes sides
