Sporting directorate believes the winger has a trait that is scarce in the squad: speed to break games open, power in one-on-one situations and the ability to attack space. That profile has been among the club's priorities for weeks, and the Spanish international fits the idea Fernando Soriano has in mind.

At 30 years old, Adama is looking for a new destination after a career that has taken him through clubs such as Barcelona, Aston Villa, Middlesbrough, Wolverhampton, Fulham and West Ham.
