The Real Sociedad already has a clear candidate to bolster its back line. The name that has gained the most momentum in recent hours is Ladislav Krejci, a centre-back at Wolverhampton who already knows Spanish football after his time at the Girona and fits the profile Pellegrino Matarazzo is looking for.

The Czech international, aged 27, faces a summer shaped by the relegation of Wolverhampton to the Championship. This new scenario opens the door to a possible exit just a year after the English club spent around 30 million euros to sign him from Girona.

Conversations between the two clubs have already begun, although there is still a gap in the clubs' assessment of the transfer fee. Even so, both sides' intention is to keep negotiations open to try to narrow the gap over the coming weeks. Real Sociedad are not alone in the race, as several Premier League teams are also keeping a close eye on the defender's situation.

Krejci left a good impression during his time in LaLiga. With his 1.91 metres he brings authority in the air, aggression in duels and a notable ability to play out from the back. In addition, his versatility allows him to play both as a centre-back in a back four and in a three-man defense, and even to cover left-back or the holding midfield role in specific situations.

The need to reinforce the back line has become one of the priorities for the Donostia sporting directorate.
