The English club is said to have tabled a 18 million-euro bid for the Rayo Vallecano centre-back. The red-and-white club is backing his continuity after signing him this summer and tying him down until 2030.

Rayo Vallecano

The future of Nobel Mendy is once again taking center stage in the transfer market. As reported by Marcos Benito on El Chiringuito, Hull City have offered 18 million euros to Rayo Vallecano to bring the young Senegalese defender in.

For now, neither of the two clubs has officially confirmed the existence of the offer, and no definitive response from the Vallecas side is known either. However, the proposal underlines the significant growth in the player's market value over recent months.

Rayo Vallecano's initial plan is to keep Mendy as one of the key pieces in their defence for next season. The club previously rejected a bid of close to 15 million euros from Eintracht Frankfurt, as Matteo Moretto reported.

That refusal made the position of the Madrid club clear: Nobel Mendy will not leave for any amount. Hull City's new push improves on the German offer, although it is still not known whether the 18 million euros would be enough to convince Rayo.

A deal that could leave money for Betis

Rayo signed the centre-back permanently this summer after exercising the purchase option agreed with Real Betis. The outlay was around three million euros, depending on the variables included in the deal, and the player extended his contract until June 2030.

The green-and-white side retains 20% of the rights or of a future sale, so they remain very alert to any negotiations. If the transfer to Hull City were to go through, Betis would receive a significant sum without having to intervene directly in the operation.

Nobel Mendy multiplies his value in Vallecas

At 21 years old, Nobel Mendy has become one of LaLiga's most promising young centre-backs. Last season he played 24 matches and more than 1,800 minutes in the competition, showing physical power, pace and the ability to defend far from his own goal.

His performances convinced Rayo to back a permanent signing and now several European clubs are following suit. Hull City is the latest team to show interest in the Senegalese, although the deal is still a market report and not an official move.
