At Real Madrid, preparations are already underway for a new era. Although there is no official announcement yet, within the club they take José Mourinho's return to the white bench for the 2026/27 season for granted, once the Real Madrid elections are over and Florentino is re-elected as president. The Portuguese is not arriving exactly with the intention of making friends.

The Portuguese coach is already working with the board on a major squad overhaul and there are several players who are starting to look askance at their future. One of the names that is somewhat surprising on that list is Eduardo Camavinga.

The recent period at Madrid has left many doubts within the club. The results have not been up to par, the locker room has experienced tense moments, and some key players have dropped their level significantly. That is why, in the boardrooms, they believe a show of authority is needed.

At Valdebebas, they believe the Portuguese can bring back the competitiveness and football tension that has been lost in recent years. And those who know Mourinho know perfectly well how he works: if someone doesn’t fit into his idea, there are no half measures.

Camavinga seems to have become one of the biggest casualties of that situation. The Frenchman has not managed to be consistent this season and injuries haven't helped either. Added to this is a rather irregular performance in important moments, something that has caused concern both in the coaching staff and the board.

The hardest blow came with Didier Deschamps' decision to leave him out of France’s World Cup squad. An absence that further raised alarms around the midfielder.

Mourinho, according to sources close to the club, is not fully convinced about Camavinga’s role in his project. He believes he still makes too many tactical errors and does not provide the stability he seeks for the midfield.

For that reason, the coach would have already communicated a pretty clear idea to Florentino Pérez: if a strong offer arrives this summer, the club should listen to it.

Camavinga remains silent. The player knows he is going through one of the most difficult moments since he arrived at the Bernabéu and that Mourinho's arrival could completely change his outlook.

In terms of numbers, 148 points in Comunio, 68 in Biwenger, 121 in Liga Fantasy Dazn. Very low numbers for a player who is supposed to be a starter at Real Madrid. 

Everything points to the white revolution possibly beginning with a departure as unexpected as it is highly publicized.
