Barcelona took a victory of enormous significance in Pamplona against a competitive Osasuna, who threatened for many minutes and kept pushing until the end. Lewandowski opened the scoring in the 81st minute, Ferran Torres extended the lead in the 86th, and Raúl García de Haro reduced it in the 88th to keep the suspense alive until the final breath.

Osasuna arrived at the match sitting in tenth position with 42 points, still hopeful of approaching the European zone and protected by the strength of El Sadar, where they had gone ten consecutive matches undefeated in LaLiga. Barcelona, leader with 85 points and eleven points ahead of Real Madrid before playing, faced the visit as an opportunity to practically seal the championship.

First half

The match started with tension and Osasuna determined to unsettle the leader from the very beginning. The rojillos quickly claimed a play in the area between Cancelo and Budimir, but the game continued and Barcelona tried to impose their rhythm with the ball without finding much clarity near Sergio Herrera. Lewandowski had a first chance that went high, Roony Bardghji tried from the right, and Dani Olmo also tried from a set-piece, though without troubling the Navarrese side.

The best local response came from Budimir. The Croatian striker, always troublesome for the Barça defense, hit the post in the 36th minute following an Osasuna transition, and shortly after forced Joan García to make a low save. Barcelona closed the first half with a dangerous shot from Fermín López, but the break arrived goalless and with the feeling that Osasuna had managed to bring the match to the field that suited them best

Second half

After the break, the script didn’t immediately change. Barcelona kept accumulating possession and attempts, but Osasuna maintained order, aggressiveness, and legs to break out. Dani Olmo had a clear chance in the area that was blocked by Catena, while Fermín again appeared with a shot from distance. Hansi Flick made changes on the bench at the 62nd with the introductions of Frenkie de Jong, Ferran Torres, and Marcus Rashford, a triple substitution that ended up shifting the offensive weight of the match.

Before the Blaugrana strike, Osasuna also had a chance to take the lead. Rubén García had a double opportunity in the 69th: first he was denied by Joan García, then sent his rebound over the bar. The lack of accuracy was punished by Barcelona in the decisive stretch. In the 81st, Rashford delivered a measured cross and Lewandowski attacked the area with authority to head in the 0-1. Five minutes later, Fermín threaded a deep pass to Ferran Torres, who beat the defense’s backline and finished low past Sergio Herrera.

The 0-2 seemed to settle the match, but El Sadar still saw a last burst of energy. Abel Bretones, just brought on, crossed from the left and Raúl García de Haro connected a header in the 88th to make it 1-2. Osasuna pushed with everything, even Sergio Herrera joining the opponent's area in added time, but Barcelona held firm. Lewandowski and Ferran’s finishing in the decisive minutes turned a tough night into a victory with a title aroma.
