Good news: Rayo Vallecano agree with their fans
The Rayo Vallecano and representatives of their supporters have reached three major commitments to improve their relationship after months of tension. Compensation for season-ticket holders, the design of the club's future kits and the scheduling of regular meetings are at the heart of an agreement aimed at narrowing the gap and restoring the usual atmosphere in Vallecas.
Rayo Vallecano
This Friday, October 30, the franjirrojo club made public the details of the meeting held on Thursday with representatives of its supporters. The gathering comes at a time of institutional tension, also marked by the lack of atmosphere in the stadium, and establishes a path for ongoing dialogue between both sides.
One of the most notable points is the decision to organize monthly meetings with fan representatives. These get-togethers will allow concerns to be raised, pending issues to be addressed, and communication between the club and its supporters to be more direct.
The club has also taken up one of the demands related to its identity. The three kits for the 2027/28 season will feature the traditional red-and-white stripe as the main element, a decision that responds to requests made by fans over the past few months.
Compensation for season-ticket holders and a message before Celta
Another of the commitments affects the matches that the Rayo Vallecano had to play at the Estadio Ontime Butarque due to the problems that existed in Vallecas.
The club has set up a system to calculate the amounts due to season-ticket holders who were unable to travel to Leganes. The refund will be determined based on the price of the season ticket for each stand, divided by the matches included and multiplied by the number of games that each affected person could not attend.
The club continues to prepare the procedure for making these compensations and expects to present a specific proposal in the coming days to make their implementation easier.
In its statement, Rayo welcomed the move and described it as "a further step forward in building a positive relationship between the Club and its supporters".
The club's intention is for this understanding to also be felt in the stands during this Saturday's match against Celta, when it hopes to win back the backing of its fans. Talks will continue at upcoming meetings to address other matters that are still open.
The statement ends with special recognition for the Rayo supporters who went to help those affected by the rail accident. Rayo has already conveyed its thanks to them personally during Thursday's meeting and wanted to reiterate it publicly for their actions.
