Andrei Radu will not be with Romania's national team for their upcoming Nations League fixtures against Poland and Bosnia. The Celta Vigo goalkeeper will use the international break to undergo medical treatment for shoulder discomfort.

The Romanian Football Federation has confirmed his withdrawal from this window, explaining that the goalkeeper needs to deal with a health issue. According to the information available, it is not an injury and Celta have said that the discomfort does not stop him from competing normally.

Radu comes into this break in the middle of a heavy run of fixtures. Last season he played every minute of league football and this campaign he remains first choice in both LaLiga and the Europa League. His most recent display was positive again against Union Saint-Gilloise, a match in which he saved a penalty and produced several standout stops.

Fantasy situation

For Fantasy managers, the news should be treated with caution but without alarm. At present, there is no sign of an injury that would rule him out of action for Celta, so his status as first choice does not change based on the current information.

Unless any setback emerges, the plan is for Radu to continue in goal for the Sky Blues before the break, including Sunday's match against Levante. After that, he will use the international window to focus on his treatment.

His absence with Romania also leaves the goalkeeping minutes at Celta up in the air during the Copa del Rey. Claudio Giraldez has not publicly confirmed his plans, although Altay Bayindir's omission from Turkey's squad would allow him to be available for the tie against Salamanca, where he could get a chance if the coach decides to give him minutes.
