Elche will not be able to count on Thomas Lemar for their next LaLiga match against Real Betis. The French midfielder is suffering a muscle fiber tear in the adductor, an injury that will keep him out of action for an estimated between two and three weeks.

Lemar had to be substituted in the 24th minute of last weekend's game against Valencia after feeling discomfort that prevented him from continuing. Tests carried out afterwards confirmed the extent of the injury and ruled out his participation in matchday 12.

The absence is a problem for Martín Anselmi, who loses an important player in the creative zone. The Frenchman had been providing quality, mobility and link-up ability in midfield, so his unavailability reduces the attacking options for the Illicit side.

In addition to the match against Betis, his availability for the clash against Levante, scheduled for November 22 and the first game after the international break, is in doubt. The club will wait to see how he recovers before setting a specific return date.

We would keep Lemar; the international break works in his favor and he will surely only miss one LaLiga match, the one this round sees Elche take on Betis at home.
