The Atlético coach did not test a starting lineup in the last session, but Thursday's training session points the way for the match at the Ciutat de València. Cuti Romero could return to the starting XI, and Jonathan David appears to have the edge to partner Julián Álvarez.

Atlético de Madrid

Diego Pablo Simeone did not run a starting XI test in training this Friday, the last session before the trip to Levante, so Thursday's session takes on greater importance when it comes to interpreting his plans. With no official confirmation yet, the team worked on then leaves the possible red-and-white lineup fairly well set.

The main change would be in defense, with Cuti Romero back after recovering from a muscular injury. The Argentine center-back was included in the main group and is set to form a partnership with Hancko, with Pubill at right back and Grimaldo on the left.

In midfield, Simeone tested Pablo Barrios and Marcos Llorente as interior pieces. Koke and Johnny Cardoso remain sidelined from the immediate plans due to injury, which reduces the options in that area.

The XI rehearsed on Thursday was made up of Oblak; Pubill, Cuti Romero, Hancko, Grimaldo; Giuliano Simeone, Barrios, Llorente, Baena; Jonathan David and Julián Álvarez. With no new test on Friday, that composition remains the most reliable reference ahead of the match.

Fantasy Reading

In Fantasy terms, Cuti Romero is gaining momentum as a starting option if his direct return to the XI is confirmed. Jonathan David also stands out, as he seems to have the edge to partner Julián Álvarez in attack, although competition from Sorloth, Lookman and Kang-in Lee means some caution is still needed until the official lineup is known.
