Elche secured their second win of the season after beating Rayo Vallecano 0-3. The match, played in an atmosphere of protests, was shaped by three penalties in the first half and was decided by a brilliant goal from Germán Valera.

Elche left Vallecas with a resounding 0-3 victory over Rayo Vallecano and thus notched their second triumph of the season. The clash was defined by controversy and by a penalty carousel that ultimately went in favor of the team coached by Anselmi.

The home side were able to play another full match in Vallecas amid a climate of protests. On the pitch, the first half concentrated much of the action, with three spot kicks, all of them questionable, that conditioned the flow of the game.

Three penalties and a decisive advantage

The Elche side made the most of their chances from the spot. Fede Redondo and Fer Niño converted their penalties and put the visitors ahead, while Pathé Ciss could not score the penalty awarded to the Beñat San José team.

With Rayo Vallecano unable to respond to the blow, Germán Valera completed the rout with a superb strike and set the final 0-3.
