Deportivo Alavés - Málaga

Match date: 23/10-21:00

Deportivo Alavés

A new defeat for the babazorros, this time against the Celta at Balaídos, in a match shaped by the home side's effectiveness despite fatigue and the many rotations that Giráldez's team always makes. Now Quique's side face the bottom club, Málaga, with their sights set on returning to the good results they picked up at the start of the season. Thanks to those results, the team rests in a comfortable 7th position despite not having won for more than a month. The last meeting between the two dates back 9 years, when the albiazules won at Mendizorroza with a goal from Munir.

Quique gets Ángel Pérez back and has the main doubts in the midfield/inside position (Denis/Aleñá) and in the forward role, as Toni Martínez has yet to get off the mark this season, with a Mariano who is increasingly in form, lurking to take the spot of the Murcian striker.

Málaga Club de Fútbol

After the tough defeat suffered by the boquerón side against Real Sociedad, Málaga will look to secure a good result that brings them closer to the survival positions. In that sense, Funes is expected to stick with the 4-4-2 system he already tried against the txuri-urdin side, since despite the defeat and the defensive shortcomings seen during the 90 minutes, the team made a big step up in the attack by combining Adrián Niño with Chupe.
However, Málaga will not be able to count on several players for this match, with the latest addition to the list being Joaquín Muñoz after suffering a injury that will keep him out for several weeks. Therefore, the list of players who cannot play with the team for the next match is expected to be made up of Diego Murillo, Julen Lobete, Aaron Ochoa and Joaquín Muñoz.
