Racing de Santander has started preparing for Saturday's match against RCD Espanyol at El Sardinero, with a concern in defence. Pedro Felipe had to leave Wednesday's training session after feeling discomfort in the front of his left thigh.

The session, led by José Alberto López, took place between 11:00 and 12:30 and combined small-sided games with work on defensive strategy. The coach was able to work with almost all of his players, except Simon Eriksson, who continues training away from the group and is still working with the goalkeeping coach, Pedro Dorronsoro.

In Pedro Felipe's case, the Brazilian defender tried to keep taking part in training, but ended up withdrawing because he did not feel comfortable. After speaking with the coach and pointing out the affected area, he left the pitch accompanied by a first-team physiotherapist.

Pending assessment before Saturday

For now, no diagnosis has been communicated regarding the centre-back's problem. His availability for the match against Espanyol, scheduled for Saturday at 16:15 at the Campos de Sport de El Sardinero, will depend on how he progresses over the coming hours and whether he can return to training normally.

In Fantasy terms, the situation calls for caution. Pedro Felipe remains a doubt until more medical information is available or clear signs emerge in the next training sessions, so it's best to keep an eye on his progress before making any definitive lineup decisions.
