The 34-year-old full-back begins a new chapter in his career after leaving Real Madrid last summer. After several months without a club, Carvajal signed for Getafe on October 13, becoming one of the most surprising reinforcements of the season.

When did Carvajal play his last match?

To find Dani Carvajal's last official game, you have to go back to May 23, 2026, when he played the final matchday of last season's league with Real Madrid against Athletic Club at the Santiago Bernabeu.

That match ended in a 4-2 win for Madrid and was marked by the emotional farewell of the club captain. Carvajal started, provided the assist for the first goal to Gonzalo García and was substituted in the 84th minute, receiving a huge ovation from the fans.

A new chance with Bordalas

Nearly five months later, Carvajal is back to feeling like a footballer under the orders of Jose Bordalas, who has decided to bet on his experience from the very start.

His arrival represents a step up in quality for Getafe's back line, although we will have to see how he responds physically after so many months without competing. For Fantasy managers, his starting spot is an encouraging first sign, especially if he manages to establish himself in Getafe's XI over the coming matchdays.
