José Bordalás confirmed that Dani Carvajal is training normally and is ready to play, although he did not want to say whether he will be in the starting XI.

«He is ready like the rest of the team and we will make the decision tomorrow», he explained.

So, Carvajal has options to make his debut for Getafe, but his place in the starting XI is still not guaranteed.

The coach also spoke about Borja Mayoral, making it clear that he needs to regain his best physical level in order to deliver the performance expected.

«I hope Borja Mayoral reaches his best level. That is what the player wants and what we all want», he said.

His comments show that the forward still has room for improvement in the physical aspect, although Bordalás did not specify whether he will have any minutes limit against Rayo.

No excuses for European fatigue

Bordalás ruled out the idea that Thursday's European match could affect his team's performance.

«The team is fine, the team has rested and there are no excuses», he said.

The coach acknowledged that the squad is dealing with a number of absences and that they need to improve both defensively and offensively, but he did not offer any clues about possible rotations in the starting XI.

Bordalás avoids talking about Jadon Sancho

Asked about a possible arrival of Jadon Sancho, the coach avoided commenting on the player.

«I understand you are asking me about Jadon Sancho or any player, but right now we are focused on tomorrow's match».

In this way, Bordalás did not confirm or rule out a possible signing, insisting that all the attention is on the derby against Rayo Vallecano.
