DFEric García finished the match with physical problems and left a worrying image in the 90th minute. The FC Barcelona defender suffered a sharp pain that prevented him from continuing on the pitch.
Barcelona had already used up all their substitution windows, so they could not replace him and had to play the final minutes of added time with ten players.
Early reports suggest that Eric García came off with grimaces of pain in the quadriceps of his right leg. For now, the exact extent of the discomfort is still unknown, and the club is expected to provide medical information to determine whether there is an injury and how long he could be sidelined.
Defensive problems ahead of the next match
The situation is also a concern for Hansi Flick ahead of the next game. The physical doubts surrounding Eric García are compounded by the discomfort of Gerard Martín, who had to be replaced at half-time after injuring his ankle.
If both defenders are not fit, the Barcelona could have trouble putting together a reliable centre-back pairing. Everything will depend on the two players' recovery and the results of the medical tests, but Flick may be forced to look for new options to complete the defensive line.
What to do with Eric García in fantasy?
The situation creates uncertainty for managers. After leaving the pitch in pain, his availability for the next matchday hangs in the balance until more information is available.
Our recommendation is to keep him for now and wait for the medical update. Selling him now could be premature if the discomfort is not serious.
