The Real Sociedad will have to face their trip to Málaga without Yangel Herrera. The Venezuelan midfielder suffers from some physical discomfort that will prevent him from playing at La Rosaleda, as Pellegrino Matarazzo confirmed this Saturday. For now, there is no information on the extent of the problem or on when he will be able to return.

His absence creates an opportunity for Jon Gorrotxategi, who arrives after putting in a good performance on Thursday in Leuven. The academy player has options to repeat in the starting XI, although the final decision will depend on Matarazzo's plans and the alternatives available to set up the midfield.

The American coach also wanted to play down any excess confidence ahead of the match against Málaga, the bottom side. Real Sociedad need to focus on the game and find solutions to maintain their competitive level despite the Venezuelan's absence.

What to do with Yangel Herrera in Fantasy?

The confirmed absence for this matchday means you need to look for alternatives if you have to cover his spot in your lineup. However, there are not enough reasons to sell him right away: the discomfort is not accompanied by a diagnosis that would allow you to estimate how long he will be out.

Gorrotxategi is one of the names to watch. His European outing gives him a chance of continuity and could be interesting if you are looking for a budget midfielder. That said, it is worth checking the starting XI before investing in him.

So, I would keep Yangel Herrera in the squad unless you urgently need to free up a spot or some money.
