Real Madrid - Sevilla

Match date: 18/10-21:00

Real Madrid C.F.

The Real Madrid host Sevilla after beating Villarreal (1-0), with a goal from Yan Diomande. Jose Mourinho's side have 18 points and are looking to build on their league win after playing a demanding Champions League match against Roma during the week, which ended in a 3-4 victory in yet another epic European comeback.

The main absence will be Vinicius, suspended with four matches after his sending off against Villarreal. Rodrygo and Raul Asencio remain injured, while Militao is still waiting to regain his best physical condition. Huijsen looks set to return to the starting XI. The Brazilian's absence opens the door for Diomande to start, who comes off scoring against Villarreal and putting in a great performance against Roma.

Mbappé will continue to be the attacking reference, likely supported by Diomande, with Bellingham and Güler as key pieces in the build-up. Huijsen, Konaté and Rüdiger offer options in central defense, while Mourinho keeps the competition open between Trent and Dumfries at right back. The accumulation of fixtures could lead to some changes in the XI.

Main doubts in the XI: Trent Alexander-Arnold or Dumfries at right back; Konaté or Rüdiger alongside Huijsen.

Sevilla FC

More than three points

A visit to the tough ones to gauge how far this team can really compete. LGP arrives at the Santiago Bernabéu with the feeling that there is still plenty to prove, and what better way to do it than by taking on one of the best.

Last matchday left a bitter taste in Sevilla after a draw that could have been a win, and it came with plenty of controversy. A missed opportunity that now needs to be left behind in order to focus on one of the most demanding fixtures on the calendar.

After this game, the Sevillistas will have faced three of the toughest opponents in the League in just nine matchdays. An unfriendly schedule that invites the question of how far this team can go and whether it will be able to maintain the level we have been seeing.

It will be interesting to see how LGP manages the absences in the squad, especially that of Miguel Sierra, in order to keep imposing that fighting and committed side that Nervión have been showing, this time against an opponent as difficult to beat as Real Madrid.
