The possible debut of Carvajal against Rayo Vallecano is starting to take shape. The Madrid defender, announced as Getafe's new signing on Tuesday, has already begun working at the club's facilities with the aim of regaining match sharpness as soon as possible.

This Wednesday, the player completed a solo session at the Ciudad Deportiva Fernando Santos de la Parra, taking advantage of the fact that his teammates are in Romania ahead of the first Conference League clash against Universitatea Craiova.

José Bordalás's side will play this European match without their new addition and with four other injury absences: Enes Ünal, Zaid Romero, Iván Azón and Orel Mangala. All of them are continuing with their respective recovery processes.

Carvajal already had an initial contact with the squad during Tuesday's session. In his first moments in the dressing room, he was seen especially close to Borja Mayoral, with whom he previously shared a team at Real Madrid.

Carvajal targets Monday after 144 days without competing

The full-back's most recent official appearance came on May 23, against Athletic Club. That day, he directly influenced the scoreboard with an assist to Gonzalo for the match's first goal.

Since then, there have been 144 days without official competition. An absence that could end next Monday, when Getafe take on the Rayo Vallecano at the Coliseum.

That is the date on the player's horizon, although there is still no confirmation about his availability. The coaching staff wants to check how he responds to the work of these days before deciding whether he is ready to be included in a squad.

For now, Carvajal will continue training individually to improve his physical condition and gradually move closer to the competitive level he needs. His integration into the team's usual routine will depend on the sensations he conveys during the next sessions.

The defender arrives at the blue-and-black side with extensive experience at the top level and after several months away from official matches. Bordalás and his coaching staff will oversee his readiness before determining when he will be able to return to playing.
