Osasuna - Racing

Match date: 18/10-14:00

CA Osasuna

The 5-2 thrashed result at La Cartuja has brought important consequences. Instant dismissal of Luis Miguel Ramis. A point of the last 15 possible has weighed heavily. Jagoba Arrasate arrives with a lot of uncertainty about how he will set up his first XI in his new spell at the rojillo club. The first thing he has found is a fairly full infirmary. Aimar Oroz and Herrando are, as of today, the only two confirmed absences for the match against Racing de Santander.

Meanwhile, the rest of the injured are in doubt: Kike Barja, Del Castillo and Raúl Moro.

As for the starting XI, there are plenty of doubts. Starting in goal, Aitor had taken the starting spot from Sergio Herrera, but we will have to see who Jagoba backs. In defence, with Bretones and Catena as the more fixed options, we will have to see whether Rosier and Boyomo start to become important in the short term. In midfield, Iker Muñoz and Torró are fighting for a place in the pivot. Up front, Budimir is the only certainty, with the more than likely partnership of Rubén García and Moi Gómez.

Real Racing Club Santander

The Cantabrian side travel to Osasuna with the aim of maintaining the good impression they have been giving, especially when they play in front of their own fans. José Alberto's team arrive at this matchday after drawing 2-2 against Valencia at El Sardinero, in a game in which they once again showed their attacking ability and left positive signs despite not being able to take all three points. Andrés Martín returned after his injury to enjoy minutes, which is very good news for the Racing supporters.

The Racing want to carry those feelings into an demanding setting like El Sadar. One of the pending challenges is to take the performance they are showing at home and replicate it away, while keeping their personality, intensity and ability to create danger. The clash against Osasuna will be a new opportunity to prove that they can also compete at a high level away from Santander.

Matteo Prati clears doubts, the young Italian set alarm bells ringing last matchday when he received a late challenge and had to be replaced by José Alberto. He has already been seen training normally with the group and he is set to start this coming Sunday.

All that remains for us is the doubt over whether the backup goalkeeper will make it or not into the squad. Last week we could already see how he was working partially with the group, and there is a possibility that he will be included in this squad as well.

The Racing then have all their firepower for the trip to Pamplona, a clash between northern teams that, in Santander, is always lived as a special derby.
