Aymeric Laporte is the one with the best prospects of making it to Mestalla. The defender did not train with his team-mates and continues to recover from the indisposition that already prevented him from playing last Saturday against Rayo Vallecano. Despite his absence, it is expected that he can rejoin training in the next sessions. His availability will depend on how he progresses.

More delicate is the situation of Nico Williams. The Spain international is still going through the recovery process for his muscle discomfort and has not yet returned to the collective training dynamic. There is a possibility that he could train again this week, but his participation against Valencia remains complicated.

The case of Oihan Sancet is less uncertain. The midfielder continues to recover from an injury in the sole and still needs around two weeks to be available again. As a result, he is ruled out for Saturdayu2019s match.

In the meantime, the Athletic will keep working at Lezama over the coming days to prepare for their trip to Mestalla. The progress of Nico Williams and Laporte will be decisive in determining whether Edin Terzic can include them in the squad for the match against Valencia.
