The Elche coach reviewed the status of several players before taking on Celta de Vigo in the 8th matchday. Josan and Buba Sangaré are available, Lomónaco has options to start, and Cepeda is still pending his return from international duty. The coach also acknowledged that the absence of Redondo is a major setback.

MDAnselmi confirmed that Josan has trained normally and is available for the match, after a personal situation that the coach preferred not to go into.
«What happened with Josan is private and I take it in stride. Today I saw him with complete calm to train and he is available to play the match», he explained.
He also brought good news about Buba Sangaré, who has trained with the rest of his teammates without any apparent problems.
Lomónaco, with options to start in the absence of Redondo
Lomonaco640.000€-20.000€-
DFOne of the main question marks in the starting XI is the presence of Lomónaco, on whom Anselmi avoided confirming whether he will start. The coach said that all the available players have a chance to begin the match.
«All the players who are here today are available to start the match. Redondo’s absence is a big one. Whoever is best will play», he said.
The coach also did not rule out alternatives such as Morcillo in the middle of the defense, although he did not offer any specific clues about the composition of the back line.
Cepeda, pending his return from his national team
Lucas Cepeda1.610.000€-210.000€5
MDCepeda is the only international player who still hasn’t rejoined Elche training. Even so, Anselmi believes he can count on him for the game against Celta, as long as he returns in good physical condition.
«The idea is that he will be. If he arrives in good condition, he will be part of the starting lineup», he said.
Therefore, his participation will depend on how he returns after his international commitments, and he is one of the names to watch before the fantasy lineup deadline.
Valera and his renewal
Germán Valera3.090.000€+30.000€15
MDAsked about the contractual situation of Germán Valera, the coach avoided going into the talks about his renewal and said that all his attention is focused on the next match.
«These are parallel issues that we don’t control. The focus is on Celta. There’s still a long way to go before the season ends», he replied.
He did not provide any updates on his role in the starting XI or on his chances of starting.
The return of Febas and the game plan against Celta
Anselmi was also asked about Aleix Febas, now in Celta’s ranks, and he highlighted his quality, although he admitted that he does not know his current situation in Vigo. The coach said that he could have options to start due to the absences in the Galician side, without taking it for granted.
As for the match, he expects a game between two teams looking to dominate possession. During the break, Elche has worked especially on improving the circulation of the ball, reducing turnovers and strengthening collective balance.
The coach insisted that he will stick with his playing philosophy, although he will continue making adjustments to improve the team’s performance.
